How to Install Conveyor Wear Strips with Counter-Bored Bolting

Practical step-by-step guide based on field experience. Send your DWG and we quote within 24 hours.

Overview

This guide covers the practical steps to install conveyor wear strips with counter-bored bolting. JSLT Conveyor produces engineering plastic components in UHMWPE, HDPE, PA, POM and PTFE — full-process fabrication from raw sheet to CNC-machined parts.

Step-by-step procedure

  1. Prepare conveyor frame. Clean and degrease mounting surface; check flatness within 0.5 mm/m.
  2. Drill counter-bores. Counter-bore each strip at 250–400 mm spacing; use 1.5× bolt-head diameter for thermal expansion.
  3. Mechanical fastening. Use M6 or M8 stainless bolts with washers; tongue-and-groove joints stay loose for expansion.
  4. Verify alignment. Check parallelism and chain clearance after first run; adjust torque progressively.
  5. Schedule wear inspection. Inspect at 200 hours, then quarterly; rotate or replace before residual thickness < 3 mm.
