Body-in-white car bodies travel on heavy slat-chain conveyors through a cure oven at 165 – 185 °C. The chain guides need to maintain dimensional stability at the entry and exit zones (where the slat chain transitions back to ambient temperature) without dragging the chain or causing it to climb out of the guide pocket.
UHMWPE softens above 80 °C continuous, so we don't recommend it inside the cure oven body itself. POM-C handles 100 – 120 °C continuous; PEEK handles up to 260 °C. For the entry and exit transition zones (room temperature to 60 °C) UHMWPE is the right material — slick, abrasion-resistant, low cost.
