Application

A cement plant raw mix conveyor (1200 mm belt, 22° incline, ~280 t/h) was experiencing belt carryback — material sticking to the belt past the head pulley and dropping in the return run, building up under the conveyor and increasing housekeeping labour.

Two-Stage Solution

1. Primary blade: Polyurethane Shore A 88, 1200 × 25 × 200 mm, mounted on existing scraper bar 50 mm behind the head pulley
2. Secondary blade: UHMWPE GUR1020, 1200 × 20 × 150 mm, mounted on a second scraper bar 400 mm further back

Why Two Stages

The polyurethane primary takes the bulk of the cleaning — 80 – 90 % of carryback removed. It wears faster (replace every 8 – 12 months for this duty) but is the right material for the high-duty primary cleaning. The UHMWPE secondary polishes the belt clean and lasts 24 – 36 months. Together they reduce carryback to near-zero with manageable consumable costs.

Order Size

Customer ordered 12 PU primary blades (1 year supply + 4 spare) and 6 UHMWPE secondary blades (2 year supply + 2 spare). Total weight ~85 kg, shipped as parcel air freight in 9 days door-to-door.
