Sticky materials (clay, ore concentrate, wet aggregate, sugar cane bagasse) build up on standard steel idler shells, throwing the belt out of alignment and wearing through the belt cover. UHMWPE idler covers slip over the existing steel shell — the slick UHMWPE surface sheds material instead of building it up. Common bore diameters from 89 mm up to 159 mm; wall thickness 10 / 12 / 15 mm; any length from 200 mm to 1600 mm to match your idler face length.

All SKUs are made-to-order from our own UHMWPE / HDPE / nylon production line. Send your DWG / DXF / PDF / STEP — we quote within 24 hours, MOQ from 1 piece.

How a copper concentrator replaced 240 m² of steel chute liner with UHMWPE in one shutdown.
Read case →Replacing 18 m of steel impact bars with UHMWPE-on-rubber bars at a limestone quarry primary feed conveyor.
Read case →No — the UHMWPE cover slips over the existing steel idler shell. Bearings stay as-is. Most installations replace the cover during a routine bearing service.
Standard fit is a slight interference fit (~0.3 mm) and snap-on retaining grooves at each end. No adhesive needed — covers stay on for the entire service life.
